A 14-year old girl in the Belgian town of Jemeppe-sur-Meuse stabbed her father last week, after suffering months of abuse, and a threat by the girl’s father to send her to be married off in Algeria. According to the girl, the father did not want his daughter to have contact with boys; his distrust of her resulted in abuse. The girl reportedly stabbed her father after he had beat her with a piece of wood, suspecting that she called a boy against his wishes.
