School aims to tackle ‘complexities’ of Islam in Europe

In an effort to help Muslims adjust to the “complexities” of living in Switzerland and Europe while still fully practicing Islam, the University of Fribourg has opened the country’s first Muslim training association. The school will offer a certificate to both Muslims and non-Muslims interested in learning more about the religion and the culture. Class members are expected to range from imams and pastors to teachers and social workers. Reporter Alex Helmick talks to Mohamed Mestiri the co-director of the program. Mestiri starts by saying why Switzerland needs the program.
