Netteavisen asked 1000 non-Muslim Norwegians: “Who is Muhammad in Islam?”. 52.8 percent answered that Muhammad is the most important prophet in Islam. 27.8 percent thought Muhammad was the God of Muslims, and 17.4 couldn’t answer. Commentators are discouraged by the fact that almost 50 percent of the people asked gave a wrong answer, and by what this number indicates when it comes to knowledge about Islam in the general.
