Cagliari province is stepping forward to provide a place of prayer for Muslims. President of the Province, Angela Quaquero makes available a multipurpose room at the Monte Claro park.
Zaher Omar, the leader of the Muslim group in Caligiari brought attention to the many Muslims living in Cagliari who were without a place to pray. “While waiting for a mosque that can hold all Muslims, we’re just asking for a place to pray for two hours on Friday.”
Angela Quaquero explained “it is not within the purview of the province to construct a mosque in Cagliari, but it certainly is one of our institutional tasks to meet the needs of citizens and to overcome serious inconveniences. I’ve allowed for the availability of a multipurpose room in Monte Claro park free of charge for two hours on Friday.”
