Halal: Are Muslims Eating Quality Meat?

With the market for halal meat growing over 20%, prompting the creation of new jobs, the market is booming. Despite its success, the quality of its products are not always known. Businessman Abderrahman Bouzid, a specialist in the halal market, and founder of the AB Consultants Associates Council, discusses the issue.

Bouzid explains that those who wish to become involved in the halal market must be thoroughly trained by a someone already established, both in order to become recognized and in order to ensure a successful business. Bouzid was involved in launching the first halal brand in the world, and has introduced halal into many mainstream restaurants and grocery stores in France. He also added that the majority of workers that produce halal meat are not Muslim, but concluded that the halal market is growing and that the products are safe for French Muslims.
