Second Muslim School in Essonne opens in Corbeil

Orange, blue, pink, blue, green. The colors in the classrooms of the new school in Corbeil-Essonnes are lively and warm. The incoming students will be attending the second private Muslim school, the other located in Vigneux-sur-Seine.

The project began in 2011. “We took our time. We wanted to buy the property, we thought it would only take a year,” explained Mohamed Abed, who headed the project. “We solicited the Muslim community in Paris who provided us with 1.2 million euros for the purchase and work. That gave us time for program implementation and to find a teaching team.”

Personal development and growth is at the heart of the school’s mission. “We’re going to work with the students to help them achieve individual accomplishments, so that they don’t feel lost and learn to properly behave and conduct themselves.”
