New Age Colorado bookstore named Isis vandalized

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The owners of a New Age bookstore in the Denver area say they believe they were targeted by vandals because of the shop’s name: Isis Books and Gifts.

KMGH-TV in Denver reports, that the Isis sign was damaged after someone threw rocks at it.

The store’s owner says they have been targeted by vandals before because of the name, which is among the acronyms used to refer to the militant Islamic State group. She says the most recent vandalism is likely in response to Friday’s terror attacks in Paris.

The owner says the store is named after the Egyptian goddess Isis. She says the store has had the same name for 35 years and she has no plans of renaming it.
