Dutch Muslims condemn Paris attacks

Dutch Muslims united in the CMO (Contact Organization for Muslims and the Government) have firmly condemned the Paris attacks. In a declaration the CMO mentioned the attacks as “barbaric, cowardly, inhuman terrorist attacks against the French society and in fact against the whole of humanity.”

The Dutch Muslim community is intensely sad and feels connected to all victims and to the French nation. “Let us all be watchful and alert so that these sick criminals will not drive us apart with their cowardly acts,” the CMO warned.

The RMMN (Board of Dutch-Moroccan Mosques) is also chocked. “The Islam teaches us that who kills a human being in fact kills the whole of humanity. Our intense sympathy and prayers are with all the victims and surviving relatives.”

“With all those who believe in democracy and the rule of law we shall continue to strive against violence and hatred independent from whom it comes. So that all of us together can make a fist against terror and extremists,” the RMMN-chairman Yahia Bouyafa wrote in a declaration.

The RMMN called upon mosques to open there doors to local inhabitants to be able to converse with each other and mourn together. The board also asked people to stay alert with regards to safety and to report incidents to the RMMN.
