Store manager responds to halal supermarket closure (video)

The Good Price halal supermarket’s manager Soulemane Yalcin has spoken out against the store’s ordered closure.

“The accusation of communalist business doesn’t make sense,” he said. “These are my business choices, I studied the market, I looked at the numbers of the store that came before this. I take into account my clients’ demands and I sell what people ask for.”

“The decision to close the store is terrible for someone like me who has invested his entire life into a business. I took enormous risks, I worked day and night. I risk losing my entire investment. We have around ten employees in the business, who risk ending up unemployed. That will add ten more unemployed people to the list.”
