After Arrests in Germany, Interrogations suggest a link between the Union of Islamic Djihad and Ouzbekistan

Three islamists were arrested in Gernmany on September 4th after being suspected of planning attacks with more than 700 kg of hydrogen peroxide. A press release on the Internet claimed responsibility for the failed attacks in the name of the Union of Islamic Djihad, which may be affiliated to the Islamist Movement of Ouzbekistan (IMU). The press release was confirmed to be authentic by the German Minister of Interior. Because of the fact that no Ouzbek were among those arrested, the French secret services are suspicious of this claim.
