Four young Muslim artists from Kirklees aim to give a contemporary twist on stereotypes and traditional art forms. University art students Asiya Seedat, Anisah Denny, Fatema Mayet and Naila Afeefah, from Fartown, want people to take a fresh look at art in the Change in Perspective display in Batley. They say it explores what it means to be young, British and Muslim and how art can play an important part in challenging the view that “Muslims don’t _do’ art”.
