Producer and actor Don Cheadle is starring in the newly released film ‘Traitor’ by Overture Films, which hit theaters on August 27th. While the film does not offer serious insights into the terrorist mindset or ‘jihadist’ goals, it depicts a tale about international terrorism across the CIA, FBI, and three continents – tracking a Muslim American through a string of conspiracies and fatal bombings. Cheadle stars as Samir Horn, a conflicted Muslim who is either an undercover US operative, or a ruthless killer – or both. Cheadle, as Samir, shows himself to be conflicted about the lengths that he must go through to prove his loyalty to handlers, caught between realms of belonging and a devout Muslim.
