Italian Muslims take part in global Eid festival

Around 400,000 Italian Muslims took part in the Eid-al-Adha sacrifice and celebration this year, in almost every Italian city. The director of Islam-Online.it and secretary of Italy’s largest Muslim group, the Union of Islamic Communities in Italy, Hamza Piccardo, said that the increase in participation rose at least 40 percent compared to previous celebrations last year. “In the sermons delivered by the Imams, as well as remembering obedience to Abraham and the mercy of Allah, is a big appeal for internal harmony and unity,” said Piccardo. According to Piccardo, 25,000 attended mosque ceremonies in Rome, 15,000 in Milan, and an additional 15,000 in neighborhoods on the outskirts.
