Vatican: Three senior clerics back more European mosques

According to three senior Vatican clerics, Muslims should be allowed to build new mosques in Europe so long as they respect local communities and respect the way of life of the host countries. The construction of more “official” mosques would also boost security, said the Archbishop of Bordeaux, Archbishop of Budapest, and Archbishop of Zagreb. “Religious freedom requires the faithful to have their own places of worship. This applies to Muslims and Christians alike, both in Europe and in Islamic countries,” said the Archbishop of Bordeaux. He added that risks increase when Islam remains hidden and underground.
