A gym in Rotterdam received a lawsuit from a Muslim woman, because she was told that she could not train at the facility while wearing a headscarf. The 27-year old woman does not intend to back down: “There are already various decisions by the CGB on this topic. This nationally operating gym has a general policy to not allow any clothing on your head. Therefore, also a bandanna that I wanted to wear as an alternative was not allowed, said Karima Bouhannouch. The woman cited discrimination in her complaint. The Equal Treatment Commission (CGB) will review the case with the state secretary of the Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport.
