Muslims ask Italian president to press for Gaza peace

The Islamic Cultural Center appealed to Italian president Giorgio Napoletano to press for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Secretary-general of the centre, Abdellah Redouane, addressed the letter to the president. “Prayers are accompanied by broken-hearted anguish, pain, expressions of sadness and concern. Men, women, and citizens wherever they are in the world, feel the need to demonstrate sadness, this worry, and at times their indignation,” said the latter. The letter also urged the president to do everything he could in hopes of peace in the Middle East. The Islamic Cultural Center is the only Islamic entity officially recognized by the Italian state.
