Europe: Hezbollah attack on Israeli target in Europe said to have been thwarted

A massive terror attack planned against an Israeli target in Europe was thwarted in recent weeks, according to intelligence shared between Israel and an undisclosed European country. The plot, which was linked to Lebanon’s Hezbollah, is reported to be have been aimed at an unnamed Israeli target.

Israeli security officials said that they expected attempts to hit Israeli targets abroad to intensify with the approach of the February 14th assignation of Hezbollah’s second in command, Imad Mughniyeh. Last week, Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered Israeli security services to raise their level of alertness over the approaching anniversary.
