The golf lures the “beurs” (young Muslims) from France’s suburbs

According to this special news report from Le Figaro, between 300-400 French Muslims move to Dubai and Abu Dhabi annually to find work and live in a Muslim-majority country.

The article follows a 27 year-old Muslim of Algerian-origin from the outskirts of Paris who, at the end of 2006, having gone through Egypt to learn classical Arabic, now lives “practicing my religion without hiding it.”

Djilali Benchabane, currently studying this out-migration, claims that many young French Muslims are simply looking for better employment opportunities, particularly in banking, large commercial companies like Carrefour and with airline companies.
