Head of the far-right Vlaams Belang party, Filip Dewinter, accuses Islam as being modern Europe’s main problem in his new book.
Dewinter argues that the influence of Islam in Europe should be stemmed, and described Islamophobia as “an obligation.” In his book, titled “Insha’Allah? The Islamization of Europe,” Dewinter dismisses moderate Muslims and suggests that European countries bar immigrants from Muslim nations and impose strict controls on Muslims already residing in Muslim countries. “The moderate Muslims are many but they are not relevant. The radical Muslims who have the mosques in their power are,” he is quoted as saying.
Dewinter is known for holding extreme rightist views in Belgium, and holding very conservative anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim sentiments.
