Italy and Indonesia hold joint interfaith conference in Rome

The governments of Italy and Indonesia along with an Italian Catholic lay organization held a cultural conference on Islam and coexistence in Rome this past Wednesday.

Musurifun Lakawa, a counselor at the Indonesian embassy said that the conference was expected to create dialogue between Italian experts and Indonesian Muslim organizations. The conference was divided into two main sessions – ‘Christianity and Islam for a Culture of coexistence’ and ‘Civil Society, Islam, Coexistence.’ Both Indonesian and Italian representatives and experts were in attendance.
