Regional newspaper the Friesch Dagblad this week runs a profile on the situation of Muslim converts to Christianity. The article quotes workers for Gave, an interchurch foundation working among asylum seekers, who describe the threat and attacks that converts face. Each month, the organization hears of one or two cases of converts facing serious death threats, and converts to Christianity may not attend church services out of fear of persecution. Last year about 200 Muslims in the Netherlands converted to Christianity.
