A 21-year-old veiled Muslim woman was attacked in Argenteuil (Val-d’Oise) by two men in what is believed to be a racially motivated attack. The woman reported the incident to the police and described it as having had her veil pulled off and being slapped by one of the men. The attack follows another incident of racist harassment against a Muslim woman in the same town few weeks before. The city hall of Argenteuil has said to take action upon the case.
The rise of islamophobic attacks in France has been widely reported in recent weeks in the country.
