On the 17th of January, Muslims will distribute pencils to the public on the streets. Initiator and Muslim convert Anne Dijk stated that love is the reason for the solidarity initiative. Dijk stated that “everyone should be able to continue to draw, write, and speak. YOU and ME. Since the chocking past events in Paris on the 7th of January the pencil has become a symbol for so much more. Every form of terror is an assault on the freedom of expression. Let us never think that one human being has more worth than another. Or has more right. The freedom of expression belongs to everyone.”
