Rawan Abdulla is a PhD student at the University of Birmingham in the theology and religious studies department. Her research is exploring the topic of ‘Islamic Liberation Theology’, with reference to Catholic Political and Pre-Nation State Islamic governance. Rawan received her LLM in Human Rights, Conflict and Justice from the School of African and Oriental Studies and her LLM at the London School of Economics. Before beginning her PhD, she worked at the University of Birmingham as a researcher and policy officer within the ‘Commonwealth Initiative for Freedom of Religion or Belief’ project.
