From the left, a call to end the current Dutch notion of tolerance

The country’s biggest left-wing political group, the Labor Party, called for an end to the failed model of Dutch “tolerance.” The cited that the current model “doesn’t work anymore” and stated “the mistake we can never repeat is stifling criticism of cultures and religions for reasons of tolerance.” The Labor party’s spokesperson, Lilianne Plouman denounced current policies of reflexive tolerance and encourages a stop to “the existence of parallel societies within our society.” Citing an unwillingness to new ways of accepting and working with inevitable differences to deal with these issues, Plouman insists that “the success of the integration process is hindered by the disproportionate number of non-natives involved in criminality and trouble-making, by men who refuse to shake hands with women, by burqas and separate courses for women on citizenship.”
