Sakina Loukili is currently pursuing a Research Master’s in Religious Studies at the University of Amsterdam, with a specialization in Islam in the modern world. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from the same university, in which she has mainly focused on the study of Islam. Her research interests include Islam and the West, Islam and popular culture, and the intersections between Islam, gender, ethnicity and nationality. Recently, Sakina has worked as a student-assistant for the research project titled “Delicate Relations: Jews and Muslims in Amsterdam and London,” funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
