Conflict between religions threatens future of the world, Muslim leaders tell Pope

In a letter to Pope Benedict XVI and other Christian leaders, 138 Muslim scholars urged co-existence, noting the similarities of both faiths in the Bible and the Quran. “If Muslims and Christians are not at peace, the world cannot be at peace… our common future is at stake,” the letter said. Entitled ‘A Common Word Between Us and You,” the letter is the second of its kind – the first was sent after the Pope’s controversial remarks about Muhammad last year.
