Spain’s first halal consumer association, called _Vida Halal’ (Halal Living), headquartered in Cordoba with offices in Madrid and Barcelona, is hoping to ensure that consumers have access to Islamically permissible food. The secular and non-profit Vida Halal is also hoping to reach consumers via it’s website, located athttp://www.vidahalal.com. The organizations chairman, Kamila Toby, cites the importance of the organization in light of the lack of labeling on many foods and products in Spain.
