Dutch politicians face increasing threats – Wilders faces the most
Dutch police have released statistics showing the increasing number of threats made against politicians. In the first half of 2008, approximately 225 reports have been made – though most of the threats were found to be hoaxes, after police investigation. Other more serious threats included letters sent with powders or bullets. Geert Wilders, the leader of the right-wing Freedom Party and creator of the anti-Quran film _Fitna’ was the most targeted in such threats.
