In late January, more than 20 people from a “biblical group” gathered outside the Islamic Society of Tampa Bay carrying signs and bullhorns to shout and denounce the religion of Islam. Slurs against Islam and the prophet Muhammad were shouted, and anti-Muslim literature was also handed out, according to a mosque official. CAIR has asked the FBI to investigate possible civil rights violations by the “biblical group” that allegedly harassed the mosque’s worshipers.
