Is Islam good for London?

    I’m Islamic: don’t panic!” is the cheerful slogan emblazoned on a T shirt in one London street market – a cheeky London response to an issue that has become one of the most pressing of the times. In a city with a Muslim population of well over half a million and growing and against a background of the terror threat that affects us all, the question of how a modern diverse city can live with Islam – and vice versa – has a fresh salience.
