A 16-year-old Moroccan student at Scala College in Alphen aan de Rijn was attacked in school by a group of fellow female students, angry that the girl, of Moroccan origin, was not wearing a headscarf. The attack came following a message posted by the victim on a social media site. The victim sustained a concussion and a bloody lip. The girl who perpetrated the attack has been suspended from the school.
