Moroccan groups in Holland attend Auschwitz memorial

Representatives of Moroccan organizations in the Netherlands attended the annual Auschwitz memorial, after receiving requests from the government. The decision to attend – the first for the groups – comes amid heightened tensions between Jewish and Arab groups amid recent remonstration over the Israeli offensive into Gaza. The Moroccan groups decided to attend the ceremony after receiving a direct invitation from the Dutch integration minister, emphasizing the need for Jews and Muslims to “come together by understanding each other’s pain and suffering.”
